The Swedish Maritime Administration and Ports of Stockholm establish a joint maritime traffic centre

The Swedish Maritime Administration and Ports of Stockholm are taking a historic step by establishing a joint maritime traffic center in Stockholm. The cooperation will enhance the efficiency and safety of vessel traffic from Oxelösund in the south and up along the entire northern coast of Sweden.

DNV awards Approval in Principle for LCO2 carrier design developed by Shell and Brevik Engineering

DNV has awarded a detailed Approval in Principle (AiP) to Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited and Brevik Engineering for their design of a 74,000 cubic metres (cbm) liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2) carrier. The vessel is specifically designed for the Asia Pacific market to enable cost competitive transport of CO2.

Trade increased at Port of Long Beach in February

Dockworkers and terminal operators moved 765,385 twenty-foot equivalent units in February, up 13.4% from the same month last year. Imports rose 11.8% to 368,669 TEUs and exports increased 2.9% to 90,026 TEUs. Empty containers moving through the Port climbed 19.1% to 306,690 TEUs.
